The festival, which saw headline sets from Rolling Stones, Arctic Monkeys and Mumford & Sons, has donated millions to local and international causes
While Glastonbury 2013 may be remembered by Rolling Stones’ two-hour Saturday night set, an appearance from Bruce Forsyth or headline sets from Mumford & Sons and Arctic Monkeys, it also served a charitable purpose. The festival has now announced the event raised£2m for charities and causes last year.
Following news of 2015’s tickets selling out in record time, Glastonbury has now confirmed it was able to donate millions to both local and international charities including Oxfam, Greenpeace, WaterAid and volunteer groups in 2013.
